Here are the standard features found in the Escalade that are not found in the similarly priced Mercedes GL450: Power liftgate, tri-zone climate controls, heated 2nd-row seats, leather upholstery, 14-way power seats (8-way power seats in the GL), memory system. DVD entertainment is available in the Escalade for $1300 and is available in the GL-class for $2700. It’s standard in the Escalade Platinum. Even the $80,000 GL550 has less power than the $65,000 Escalade. And who cares about off-road?

Caddy are not luxury, they try to be and fail. Sorry, think they looks great but if u sit in one of them then sit in any of the 3 german powerhouse’s or lexus or even alpha, u can feel caddy’s cheapness and build quality isnt great and its just not luxurious at all. The Escalade destorys the benz in america for one simple reason, Its American….everywhere else it gets destroyed. You can actually go 4wding in a GL, cant do that **** in an escalade.

The same GM that has admitted to making crap? Escalades are great for the niche that they filled but unfortunately, the masses have changed their direction into looking at fuel efficient vehicles and they don’t look towards the Americans for them (again I only said most). Destroys is a heavy word. I have much respect for the Mercedes G rides. They have a great following.

Are you seriously saying the Cadillac DTS isn’t a luxurious car? At $50,000, you get a navigation system w/ voice recognition, seat massage, heated front and rear seats, premium sound, 6-disc CD changer, remote start, and so much more, and you think American cars are not luxurious? Wow, that Mercedes GL450 was a big fuckin’ mistake. The Escalade destroys the GL450, and here are three reasons off the tip of my tongue - more power, remote engine start, faster.

No. You can go with your great American cars that go fast in a straight line. People who buy the Lexus aren’t looking to go fast in a straight line, they are looking for luxury.

The Toyota / Lexus Navigation system is dangerous because it requires the driver to perform additional maneuvering (exit the freeway, ect.) to get the car stopped and then under way again.
Always look for a system that will allow the PASSENGER to input an address while the vehicle is moving. This important safety feature also saves time and gasoline. Honda, Mercedes, and the Hertz Never Lost do it right.

watch my Lexus…

This isn’t an exotic super luxury convertible, ok, this is not a cheap convertible for any dad. This is an expensive luxury performance convertible for $66,000. I underestimated the SC430. It’s a reliable car, true, and it has accurate handling, but Cadillac and Audi have between somewhat and much better buys (Audi TTS convertible? $50,000. Cadillac CTS-V? $60,000.) Lexus is ok. Mercedes-Benz is ok. BMW is good. AUDI AND CADILLAC OWN!!!

well look how reliable a lexus and has a good resell price and cadilac is piece of shit
May 11th, 2009 at 8:57 am
No sorry, not 4.5, but 4.1 for the CTS-V. A luxury high-performance almost exotic sedan at $60,000 or a luxury performance (not high) convertible at $66,000? Cadillacs are awesome because of reasonable pricing, power, performance, and luxury. Lexuses are just more expensive versions of Cadillacs, and that’s why Lexus is truely worried about their sales. Gangsters drive old 2001 Cadillac Sevilles, not old 2001 Lexus ES’s. This Lexus sucks, and I’m not crazy about the other Lexuses, either. CADDY!

Cadillac CTS-V - $60,000, 0 to 60 in 4.5
Lexus SC430 - $66,000, 0 to 60 in 5.8
What the ****? (Well it’s a convertible) Still, what the ****?
May 14th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
Oh my god they both absolutely ****! A 5.8-second 0 to 60, at $65,000??!! And the 5.3-second 0 to 60 $100,000 Mercedes? Hell no as well! How about a 4.1-second $110,000 Audi? Isn’t that a much better buy than both. The XLR is WAY WAY WAY WAY more powerful, luxurious, and sexier inside and out. Sure, the SC430 is a nice car, and so is the SL, but to compete with Audi and Cadillac, they need to be about 75% of the price they are. $200,000 for a 4.2-second SL65? $110,000 for a 4.1-second R8? Which?
